PROJECT 5

Liberation and granulometric assessment
Feed treated in assorted streams collected for a Zinc Smelting plant

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

  1. Liberation in all the cof of assorted streams is nearly significant for the economic minerals viz., galena and sphalerite.

  2. Under flow fractions are characterized by coarse grained galena, with at times sphalerite also.

  3. Under flow fractions are also showing abundance of locked galena and sphalerite.

  4. At times Fahlore (silver carrier) are also visible, both in free and locked combination.

  5. However, the feed is highly ferruginous; Fe contents are more due more free pyrite and pyrrhotite in both the fractions of all the streams.

  6. Nothing is abnormal is visible mineralogical.

  7. MOG at present is significant with good metal content in Free State.

  8. Therefore, this kind of MOG should be continued for present mix of ore.
