PROJECT 2

A study to characterise the losses of Lead and silver
Assessment of liberation of galena as a function of fineness to improve lead and silver recoveries

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

  1. The liberation of galena as a function of fineness is severely damaging the lead and silver recoveries in all running streams at present MOG and is costing the company xx k USD every day

  2. Reduction in both fines and coarse particles is of utmost requirement for achieving the higher profitability in the all stream.

  3. Efficient grinding is suggested looking to all mix of textural complicacy from UG and OP ore for effective flotation of galena and silver carriers.

  4. Current grind does not support the recoveries of both lead and silver components.

  5. Regular in-house statutory monitoring is warranted for optimization of MOG.

  6. Due to minor and major variation in textural complicacy a uniform MOG has to be worked out in regular interval.

  7. Liberation studies are required to check the plant health by collection of spot ungrounded samples.

  8. Silver and lead analysis check samples are required to establish perfection and remove inter / intra laboratory biasness, which is observed in present study

  9. By developing coarseness in grind the economic minerals can be conserved by effective concentration and stop the direct escapement of fine in to the tails in order to enhance the company’s profitability.
